About the position 

For our Project Documentation Management department at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in Vejle, we are looking for an application administrator for our Aconex Document Management System.  As application administrator you are eager to demonstrate, train, develop and maintain the application functionalities and bring the knowledge to the users ensuring optimal utilisation of the system supporting the business within the area of handling the project documentation in the Offshore Wind Industry.

As the application administrator for Aconex you are responsible for the applications are working properly at all times, that development, configuration and adaptation is taking place continuously meeting the user’s requirements to extent possible. As the application administrator you are also expert in the Documentation Management handling and system, preferable Aconex.

What are my responsibilities?

• ensure that the application is in operation
• ensure the application relations to IT
• upgrade of application with new releases
• logging the daily application operation statistics
• stay updated on the application with in the documentation area trying to achieve best in class level
• contact to users and carry out services for users ensuring their productivity
  • assisting the Project Documentation Managers (PDM) in setting up / configure the system for project specific agreements
  • assisting the Project Documentation Department process responsible in setting up the standard solution (metadata, master document list, role based user profiles, document workflow, standard layouts and reports etc.)
  • assisting the PDM (on request) on clarification issues for setting up project specific common application solution with Customer
  • review the internal policies in relation to the application and report about it to the management for improvements initiatives
  • ensure that the work that is being done remains secure every time
  • demonstrate to users when new features are released, creating a sound operation environment between the users
  • responsible for the contact to the Aconex supplier for new releases, back up, restore, service agreement

What are my tasks?

• Become subject matter expert on the application
• Provide basic and advanced training to all user groups
• Provide local support – provide first line support, resolving colleagues’ queries
• Be the contact to the software supplier when issues need more technical attention
• Carry out regular system maintenance activities
• Identify and capture best practice
• Maintain relevant and up to date information on the system including instructions, licensing details, upgrade paths etc.
• Provide a channel of communication to the users of the system to notify of any outages or changes which may affect the system.
• Create and remove system user accounts if required

What do I need to qualify for this job?

• You hold a degree in computer science and/or an engineering degree in software
• You need to be service minded ensuring the productivity for the users
• You have experience in working and managing international projects with intercultural teams
• You are or will become absolutely expert in the application matters
• You have insight in documentation and communication processes
• You are an experienced programmer – enabling building interfaces to customer systems
• You possess sound knowledge in database technologies and transaction management
• Experience in using front-end technologies
• Ability to communicate your ideas effectively both written and verbally
• Strong presentation skills. Ability to deliver technical presentations to a range of audiences from technical to non-technical people
