Applications are invited for a position in Manufacturing Technology at the Center for Engineering Operations Management, Department of Technology and Innovation, University of Southern Denmark in Odense. The position is available from September 1, 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is an Assistant Professorship but candidates with the right qualifications may be offered an Associated Professorship. The applicant should have experience of researching and teaching within materials and manufacturing processes, additive manufacturing, 3D printing, automation and automated manufacturing processes, automated manufacturing systems, automation technologies in relation to manufacturing management, digital manufacturing, green and sustainable manufacturing and be able to contribute to the development of the center’s research areas. The teaching activities include teaching courses and supervising student projects in the B. Eng. programme in Global Management and Manufacturing and in the forthcoming M.Sc. Eng. Programme in Operations Management. Also, the candidate will be involved in various teaching and research related activities. Requirements and qualifications Candidates must have: • A Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degree in Manufacturing / Production engineering • Documented experience with research dissemination in international scientific journals and conferences • Initiating fund raising and playing an active role in securing research funding to support the research activities of the center • Good communication skills in English • Participation in Danish courses for non-Danish speaking applicants are expected for permanent positions • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently The successful candidate must have a proven capability in building local and international research relationships within the research field. Further, the candidate is expected to collaborate with existing faculty groups on joined research projects and to participate in attracting external research funding. Appointment to this position may also include teaching obligations in regard to related degree programmes.
