The Department of Food and Resource Economics, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen invites applications for a position as assistant professor within the field of Resource Economics. The position will have a main emphasis on the economics and regulation of natural resource use, with emphasis on renewable resources and the environment.
We are looking for applicants with documented research experience within one or more of the following topics, or topics related to these:
- The optimal use and regulation of renewable resources like fish stocks, forests, wildlife and/or other renewable resources
- The economics of sustainability, the circular economy and similar concepts
- Regulation design for natural resource use under market imperfections
- The economics and regulation of climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation and similar global challenges
- The optimal use and regulation of non-renewable resources, e.g. minerals and fossil energy sources
Applicants must have a PhD degree in the above-mentioned field or equivalent, must have experience conducting independent research within one or more of the above topics, have solid theoretical and thematic knowledge and have experience with publishing in international peer-reviewed journals. Teaching experience and experience in securing third-party funding will also be an advantage.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

The starting salary is currently up to DKK 426,625 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 72,952). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
