DTU Management Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor in Transport Behaviour Modelling. The assistant professor will be attached to the division for Transport Modelling, one of the six divisions comprising the Department, and the largest transport modelling unit in Denmark. It focuses on basic research, applied research, as well as innovation, public sector support and dissemination with the aim of implementing research results in society. The primary field of research and experience of the assistant professor should be within transport behavior modelling with discrete choice models. Preferably, the applicant should have experience with and interest in estimation and application of large scale transport models. Responsibilities and tasks As an assistant professor you will be one of our experts within the field of transport modelling and contribute to solving the tasks performed by the section, including •Assisting the organisation, planning and running of courses as well as supervising of student thesis •Participation in research projects and public sector support regarding travel behaviour and the transition towards more environmental friendly transport alternatives. •Model estimation within the large-scale transport model projects at the Department, including the European TransTools 3 model and the Danish National Transport Model •Contributions to research grant applications and creating new scientific advise projects •In time, becoming project manager for projects or sub-projects Qualifications We have high academic ambitions and expectations and expect you to have experience in transport behaviour research and discrete choice modelling, including a PhD degree in the subject and ISI journal publications in the field. Furthermore, you are strong in handling data, including script-based data-processing and GIS-databases. An assistant professorship is a permanent entry-level faculty position. After a maximum of 4 years, the employee transfers to a position as associate professor provided that the employee is recommended for assessment and assessed as qualified.
