The Technology and Innovation Management division of DTU Management Engineering is offering a position as associate professor in Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation Management. The Technology and Innovation Management division contributes to the advancement of knowledge within Design Engineering and Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Industrial Dynamics and Strategy. The research addresses both micro and macro level understanding of products, systems and processes. The division works closely together with companies, industrial sectors, public authorities, societal institutions and leading international universities. The division is characterized by young dynamic staff with a strong international profile and a high level of ambition. The division has a total staff of approximately 50 and it is expected to expand its staff further during the years to come. Responsibilities and tasks With the position the department wants to strengthen its capabilities in research and teaching within Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation Management. We are seeking candidates, who are committed to high quality research that will impact the field, and who can interact effectively with international peers in enhancing the intellectual climate of the division. The new associate professor is expected to participate in research-based teaching (with associated examination commitments) at the bachelor-, master- and PhD levels. The teaching includes in particular contributions to the 2-year program leading to the M.Sc. in Engineering Management. Contributions to the university’s executive programmes are welcomed. Besides the central research and teaching tasks, DTU encourages staff to engage in innovation (e.g., industrial collaborations for developing new products) and/or research-based public sector consultancy. The new associate professor is expected to cooperate with other actors in DTU’s ecosystem in innovation and entrepreneurship and also with colleagues in other departments of DTU, e.g. at DTU Compute’s Section for Statistics and Data Analysis. Dissemination of research results to the broader public is very welcomed. Qualifications Candidates must •Hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in Management of Technology, Innovation Management, IPR or a closely related field, including solid research experience as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an Assistant Professorship •document didactic/pedagogic training We expect you to have competences in the following areas: •A strong track record of scholarly research and publications at an international level •Strong analytical skills and significant skills in quantitative research methods •Documented and successful teaching experience at different levels related to the course areas offered by the division. •Documented experiences in attracting external funding in cooperation with industry and/or international universities.
