The Health faculties at Aarhus and Copenhagen Universities invite applicants for an Associate Professor position at BioMedical Design Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Programme.

The BioMedical Design Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Programme aims to provide talented innovation leaders to research institutions, the healthcare sector and life science industry. Further, it is the ambition that a number of new startups in life science and medical technologies are formed out of this educational training programme. This new initiative is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation with the purpose of training 64 talented specialist to become health innovation leaders of the future. It is a central ambition for the BioMedical Design unit to build up research competences in the field of health innovation with the aim to provide new and translational knowledge about how health innovation processes become most successful, what skills it requires and how those skills can be stimulated through education and training.

Job abstractJV_description
As Associate Professor at BioMedical Design you will play the key role in designing and conducting follow-up research on the effects of the educational content, the educational process and the coaching of BioMedical Design Fellows. Therefore, we are looking for candidates passionate about and experienced with assessment research in competence development, entrepreneurial behavior, management, behavioral science or alike.

The Associate Professorship includes activities related to documenting learning effects in individuals’ competencies developed during BioMedical Design, in short-term and long-term perspectives.

Hence it is also an important part of the research role to coordinate class content and form with the educator team to optimize cohesion between research design, effect goals and course design.

Qualifications
As associate professor at BioMedical Design you will be the first and only full-time researcher in the team, and as such you will have a unique position. One part-time assistant clinical professor will be a resource of help.
Ability and willingness to do major executional research efforts is therefore a requirement for full-filling the position.
To qualify for the associate professorship, the candidate must show original new research since acquiring the ph.d. degree, and show research momentum and document publications in highly ranked scientific journals.

The organization will be very supportive in any endeavors to secure additional research funding for Ph.D. or postdoc projects that can supplement and expand the research scope connected to the BioMedical Design Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Programme.

Employment period
1 May 2019 or as soon as possible hereafter and time limited to 31 October 2023.

Terms of employment
Appointment as an associate professor requires research and teaching qualifications at such level as can be attained following a satisfactory period of appointment as an assistant professor, but which could also be achieved otherwise.

• It is assumed that applicants have received supervision and training in university education and have received a positive written assessment of their teaching qualifications.
• Further information on the appointment procedure can be found in the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities.
• The appointment is in accordance with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikerne).
• Remuneration is in accordance with the above, and the Salary agreement catalogue for staff at Health.
