Then we might have an exciting career opportunity for you as Audiology and Signal Processing Engineer at Oticon Medical. Oticon Medical is committed to improve the quality of life of profoundly deaf patients. For that, we develop implantable medical devices and surgical techniques to restore profound hearing loss. The primary focus of the group is the development of implantable hearing solutions at every stage of life. We believe that the superior hearing rehabilitation resides on smart stimulation and biomedical sensing capabilities. To innovate on this path and to leverage the potential of the newly introduced devices, Oticon Medical is seeking for motivated and innovative audiology and signal processing engineers. You bring the best of audiology and signal processing to our patients In your new role, you will be part of an international and multicultural signal processing, audiology and firmware group that works in a multisite setup. The position is open on either our premises at Smørum (Denmark) or Nice (France). Travelling between sites will be required. Your primary responsibility is to bring the best on technical audiology and signal processing to our hearing solutions (Cochlear Implants, and Bone Anchored Hearing Systems). The position challenges the applicant on a wide range tasks not limited to current products development projects, but also for future products and technology development projects. Your main responsibilities can be summarized in following areas: Participate in product development for innovative implantable hearing solutions Specification of audiological features and documentation according to regulatory requirements. Propose and innovate on advanced signal processing algorithms for Cochlear Implants and Bone Anchored Hearing Systems Design of audiological solutions and concepts for CI, BAHS and combined solutions like EAS and bi-modal system (CI + HA, BAHS + HA, CI + BAHS) . Work according to Oticon Medical development cycle, which complies with regulatory requirements, to implement, optimize, verify and document solutions Provide the rest of the organization with support in terms of signal processing and technical audiology knowledge, through delivery of testing protocols, training, and discussion. Fluent English Experience of working in multinational projects and multisite setup Solid experience on technical audiology and signal processing In your new position, you will be working with highly advanced and innovative medical devices. You are expected to have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position in the hearing healthcare industry. You have strong technical skills on: Audiology/Algorithm design using mathematical simulation languages (eg. Matlab) Experienced with some standard coding languages (eg. C or C++) Acoustic measurements Test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer). One of the challenges in this job is to bring innovation to strengthen our stimulation strategies. Thus, you have a strong basis in audiology and signal processing: You understand the processes related to audio signal acquisition You have a very strong understanding of psychoacoustics, acoustic, and signal processing You have demonstrated previously innovation on the area through patents or publications As a person, you have a strong sense of integrity and a strong scientific focus. You possess good communication skills and you understand the value of teamwork. We expect you to hold a diploma in engineering degree from a recognized school with specialization in audiology, acoustics and signal processing, holding a PhD will be an advantage. Want to join us?
