About the Job Do you enjoy working with big complex backend systems, bringing multiple distributed parts together to a well architected whole? At MovieStarPlanet we are developing a set of #C .Net Microservices exposed through the REST API, serving our suite of social games, enjoyed by millions of kids across the world. The MicroServices are hosted in the AWS Cloud, and using a variety of storage solutions, such as MSSQL, DynamoDB, ElastiCache and S3, to cope with the huge amounts of data generated by our kids. As a BackEnd Architect you will: •Lead a cross-team collaboration of developing our MicroServices framework •Influence procedures and patterns for refactoring our legacy C# using Agile Methodologies •Mentor Juniors and spar with experienced seniors with a variety of different backgrounds Develop Highly Scalable MicroServices As BackEnd Architect you will play a leading role in our development of highly scalable MicroServices, such as our payment systems, a multi-million user messaging system, a multi-billion image sharing system, and many other areas. You will report to the Lead Programmer, and work closely with our CTO in developing an overall technical strategy and maintaining the vision for our BackEnd development. You will be a part of a cross-game technical team, bridging the gap between DevOps and feature development. You will also collaborate closely with our 5 cross-disciplinary feature teams, facilitating their collaboration, mentoring and ensuring their solutions are in synch with the overall strategy. About You You have: •A M.Sc. in Computer Science or similar degree within software development •At least 7 years of development experience •At least 3 years of experience designing and building large scale systems using C# •Experience with MicroServices and REST API •An understanding of various design patterns such as Messaging, Dynamic Runtime Reconfiguration, Circuit Breaker, Sharding, etc. •Understanding of different data management solutions like MSSQL, NoSQL (DynamoDB), Caching (Memcache & Redis), Object Storage (S3), etc. •Experience with Test-Driven Development and Automated Testing •Automation driven mindset and understanding of modern CI/CD practices •Excellent communication and English skills – both verbally and in writing It would be a plus if you also have: •Solid understanding of AWS ecosystem and experience building enterprise level cloud solutions •Experience in building highly resilient and highly available distributed applications •Experience in re-architecting/componentizing legacy systems •Experience in web security •Knowledge of serverless technologies like AWS Lambda, AWS DynamoDB, AWS SQS etc. •Java Servers, such as SmartFox You are highly self-motivated and an enthusiastic, both when it comes to solving complex problems, learning about new technology, building the best solution and communicating your ideas. At the same time, you really like working with other skilled developers, exchanging ideas with seniors and mentoring juniors, always respecting the viewpoint of others. You can foresee and identify issues, both local and across platforms, and can collaborate in working out their solutions. You always strive for the best quality, and take personal pride in developing a stable server with zero tolerance for errors. You have a knack for explaining complex concepts in a simple way and can communicate smoothly across departments. Agile is your absolute preferred way of life and you favor direct communication, over checkboxes. At the same time, you will never execute a tedious task twice if you can build a script to do it.
