You become part of the Water Utility segment in either Brøndby or Bjerringbro. More specifically, you will join the Business Development team. We are responsible for creating the strategic ambition, developing offerings and leading business development initiatives to grow the Water Utility business. We are also commercial experts in new product launches and support our sales companies, when needed, to ensure successful water utility sales. In particular, you will team up with 3 other colleagues primarily focusing on Water Supply. You refer to Søren Skjalm-Rasmussen, Director, Water Utility, Business Development. “Based on business insights and stakeholder dialogue, we, as a team, initiate and drive business development initiatives and projects to keep Grundfos at a competitive level. For us to succeed, we maintain strong collaboration within the team but also work with stakeholders across the complete value chain globally,” Søren explains. What is the job about? As our new Business Development Manager, you are responsible for developing the water utility business in Grundfos on a strategic, tactical and operational level. This entails working across the team to carry out short and long-term management of business development projects and execution in the Water Utility segment. You also work across the value chain to build attractive and leading solutions within different applications to increase customer satisfaction, Grundfos’ profitability and revenue growth. Another part of your job is to analyse customers, market, competitor trends and sales data. You contribute to developing new business models and change management for Water Utility as well as participate in developing strategies and value proposition, prices and market positioning. Your job takes you traveling approximately 40-50 days per year, which entails representing Water Utility at various events, meeting customers, as well as visiting sales companies and planning and following up on implemented solutions. “A challenge in this position is that you need to be very hands-on on your tasks in order execute and deliver on your own projects - but you also need to be able to think long term in order to establish the future strategies and plans for Water Utility,” Søren says. What do you need to apply? You have either a business education (e.g. B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Business or Marketing) or a technical education (e.g. B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering) perhaps combined with an M.B.A. Moreover, you have 10+ years of experience from technical and/or commercial roles, where you have proven your strong business acumen and business development skills. Also, you have international experience and have worked with project management. It is an advantage but not a requirement if you have experience from the Water Utility industry. You speak and write fluent English. Danish is an advantage but not a prerequisite. “A central part of the job as Business Development Manager is to make sure that our offerings meet the needs of our customer.
