What do we offer? Can you help us set the long-term perspective for Grundfos’ development in the market? We need you to ensure that our future offerings fit the market needs and are communicated in the right way. Develop your skills with us as you match technology development with market needs. Then become the second half of the EMEA Projects team in Bjerringbro, Denmark, which is part of the business segment Building Services where you will get 40 dedicated colleagues. Your small team sets the business direction for Commercial Building Services in Europe, Middle East and Africa and is part of driving the journey towards becoming capable of selling more advanced products and the related system advantages. You refer to Sr. Manager, BS Development, EMEA, Carsten Østergård Pedersen. ”As a team, we drive new initiatives, and since we in the Group are the market’s representatives within Commercial Buildings, we attend many meetings with numerous cross-functional stakeholders. Collaboration is a very central part of our day, but rather than simply providing input for different projects, we also have to consolidate new initiatives in business plans to create future value for our customers,” Carsten explains. What is the job about? As our new Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive new initiatives and compose the needed business plans. In relation to new product developments, it is essential to get a thorough understanding of the product and its potential impact in the pump system in order to create the right key selling points. Thus, you conduct research and stay in close dialogue with a number of stakeholders, including the EMEA Region, sales companies, Product Programs, Group Marketing, R&T, Group Service, Supply Chain etc. to gain insight into what needs to be developed and how it should be introduced. You will be responsible for bringing the defined tasks to a highly valuable level and making sure they are handed over in a professional way, which makes regional and local implementation easy and thereby increases Grundfos’ rate of success. Your job will take you travelling 30-40 days per year. “In this job, you need to think long-term and you will get to deal with many cross-disciplinary tasks. Your dialogue with stakeholders reaches widely across the organisation, meaning you are placed in the middle of this large web where you provide input but also set the strategy based on business insights and stakeholder demands,” Carsten says. What do you need to apply? You have an engineering background combined with commercial flair or the opposite – preferably with experience from a sales company where you have faced technical customers/clients. Moreover, you have 3+ years of experience with business development, enabling you to think strategically and analytically with a long-term perspective. It is a definite plus if you understand applications within commercial buildings, especially within HVAC and/or public health. You speak and write English fluently. “On a personal level, you possess a great drive and are an excellent networker, presenter and collaborator. This set of skills is very important as you need to be able to translate technical development into real customer benefits. As we have such a large network, we are challenged from many angles, so it is important that you can speak up and be convincing in terms of your choices in order to get the needed commitment from the organization around you,” Carsten finishes.
