The role we offer

The purpose of the role is to build the market position and develop sales of Oticon Medical in both BAHS and CI in the Nordic countries, Turkey, South Korea, Israel and South Africa. You will have a P&L responsibility for the business unit, this of course working in the matrix with the general managers of the local entities.

You are responsible for market development strategies and close coordination of the market initiatives which are key elements to be successful in this position. It is important to build a strong local support organization in the different countries to ensure the best service to the customer base. Furthermore, it is important that you develop close relations with key stakeholders externally thereby increasing product positioning and awareness of the Oticon Medical solutions. Your key interactions will be local medical teams and the General Managers of the different countries. Your base will be at Kongebakken.

The position reports to the Vice President Sales Oticon Medical who holds the global responsibility for Sales & Clinical Support based in headquarter Denmark. You will also be part of the global sales management team for Oticon Medical.

 

Areas of responsibility

• Managing the existing team as well as developing the organization to the next level in line with the expected growth of Oticon Medical
• Creating business growth by planning, initiating and coordinating sales activities
• Planning and execution of product launches, develop action plans per account, drive patient awareness programs, set stage for excellent customer support and training of surgeons & audiologists
• Building strong relations at all levels
• Participate in business review meetings with senior management in relation to budget and business plans
• Collaborating with functional areas like Marketing, Clinical Research to deploy local activities
• Success will depend on your ability to develop and execute good business plans, but also on your talent and commitment to create and develop strong relationships with key-decision makers.

You are given the responsibility for the overall business performance to deliver revenue growth and profit objectives, this in accordance with the overall business objectives of Oticon Medical. The expectation is that the new Business Director can position Oticon Medical as a leader in BAHS and Cochlear Implant market.

 

About you

• M.Sc./B.Sc. in business or science with min. 5 years of sales experience from Medtech or other businesses where surgeons, reimbursement and patient support plays a major role - or significant audiological insight coming from a similar sales position in another hearing implant company
• Experience in selling high-tech and support intensive solutions
• App. 3-5 years managerial experience from managing a sales team
• Experience in managing reporting, budgeting and business plans 
• Have a broad experience in a competitive growth business in the medical device market

Extensive travelling in the region is required as it is important to build relationships with internal and external partners and there are several international congresses and international Oticon meetings where it is important to have you present.
