Would you like to take your technical engineering skills to the next level and learn from leading CAE experts? Join us to work with colleagues across the LEGO Group as you use a wide range of state-of-the-art simulation software to verify and optimise mould and brick designs and processes.

Help verify designs through computer simulation

At our HQ in Billund, you will join a team of 8 CAE specialists who support departments across the LEGO Group. Through computer simulation, you analyse and optimise the mechanical robustness of designs and production processes, particularly for elements and moulds.

You will primarily be involved in CFD and FE-analyses of non-linear problems where the focus is on delivering quality products. CFD tasks typically include water flow and non-Newtonian polymer flows coupled with heat transfer to evaluate the manufacturability of the LEGO® bricks. FEM tasks typically involve the non-linear solution of problems with geometric contact, materially non-linear behaviour and/or large displacement scenarios.

With support from your colleagues, you will:

• Execute operational task including flow and structural simulations of moulds and elements, i.e. bricks, and ensuring timely delivery

• Ensure alignment with the customer to secure the right level of quality of the CAE service

• Participate in cross-functional projects to find the root cause for the challenge at hand

Ensure quality for the LEGO® community through learning and imagination

You will join an international team of young CAE specialists from France, Denmark and the UK. Educational background in CAE or experience with mould design

We are looking for a colleague who is ready to tackle a steep learning curve. Perhaps you are a recent graduate within a CAE-related subject, or perhaps you are a mould designer who wants to make the move into the field of computer simulation.

Either way, it is crucial that you are curious, eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions. While you initially will collaborate closely with your experienced colleagues in the beginning, it is important that you enjoy working on your own as your role will eventually become highly independent.

• You have a degree in mechanical engineering, material science, manufacturing technologies or similar

• You bring experience in CAE software (e.g. Abaqus, MSC software, Moldex3D)

• It is a plus if you have a few years of experience as a CAE engineer in the industry, but not a requirement

• It is an advantage if you have knowledge of mould construction for the injection moulding industry and have some knowledge of the injection moulding process

• You are familiar with CAD software and have good IT skills – programing skills are an asset, but not a must

• You speak and write English fluently
