Are you a technical, structured and methodical person with experience in working with product chemical compliance looking to apply your skills and knowledge in a global fashion company?

We are looking for a Chemical Compliance Specialist to join our Chemical Management team. This full-time position is based in our Corporate Headquarters in Denmark.

About the team

The Chemical Management team are responsible for developing the supply chain chemical management strategy, setting global standards and operational procedures, driving improvements in chemical management across the global supply chain, and ensuring product and material compliance to our RSL. This is an international team with a variety of professional backgrounds, located in various sourcing office locations.

About the job

We require a good team-player with strong technical knowledge of chemical use and legislation in the apparel and footwear industry, and with experience in working with implementing product chemical testing and safety procedures, to manage our RSL, and RSL testing programme.

More specifically, your tasks will include:

• Coordinating the yearly update of BESTSELLER RSL and RSL Test Programme and updating technical documents when required
• Following developments in potential future chemical legislation, and tracking chemical risks in products on an ongoing basis
• Being the contact for our head office buying, sales and warehouse teams on matters related to product chemical safety and compliance
• Managing the product RSL Testing Programme in suppliers linked to our European Buying Office
• Supporting smooth running of global RSL Testing Programme and handling monthly reporting of global testing statistics and performance to internal stakeholders
• Coordinating internal training and capacity building for our warehouse, buying and product teams on risks and developments in the industry
• Working closely with 3rd party laboratories to monitor laboratory performance in the RSL Test Programme and to establish robust and efficient testing of our products
• Collaborating across different departments within BESTSELLER (sourcing, buying, warehouse and logistics) to support effective implementation and operation of our chemical management programme
• Supporting the implementation of BESTSELLER's Chemical Management strategy across our organization and throughout our global supply chain

Workplace: Aarhus, Brande or Copenhagen, Denmark

Depending on base location, expect to travel ~10% of time. This includes regular travel to our offices in Denmark as well as visits to global production countries or conferences when required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years working with product chemical compliance (preferably in the garment and/or footwear industry)
• Appropriate qualifications (academic or experienced-based), such as chemistry, product compliance or product safety and quality assurance.
• Good knowledge and experience of supply chain chemical management systems in the apparel and footwear industry
• Have a passion for, and knowledge of, chemical legislation across the EU, US and other global markets
• Must be fluent in both written and spoken English

You are not phased by having multiple tasks to handle and are able to make decisions and communicate them with authority.
