Description
Haldor Topsøe is a leading global supplier of sustainable process technologies and catalysts for refineries, and chemical processing plants – a position achieved through a unique combination of research, process design, sales, and production.
We now offer a position as principal scientist in our Analytical and Characterization department, in the general field of oil analysis.
The department develops and delivers analysis of oil, gas and renewable fuels to our catalyst and process development programs and to our technical services supporting customer plants. We have a particularly strong collaboration with our refinery projects where we are an integrated part of their experimental activities. Our lab uses ASTM methods to determine physical properties (e.g. density, pour/cloud/freezing point, distillation and viscosity), elemental composition (e.g. S, N, H and content) and speciation analysis based on gas chromatographic (Detailed Hydrocarbon Analysis, group type analysis, Mass spectrometry) and HPLC methods.
We are looking for an engineer/scientist with interest in analytical organic chemistry and flair for instrumentation, practical laboratory work and team work.
Your responsibilities
- Laboratory work and method development in the area of oil, gas and renewable fuel analysis and fractionations.
- Ensure quality of the analytical results including maintenance and trouble-shooting on instruments in our oil analysis laboratory
- Improve work flow in handling the many samples going through the lab
- Support our team of dedicated laboratory technicians.

Qualifications
You have a master degree or Ph.D in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related field and experience with analysis of oils or other organic liquids/gases.
