Chemist with spray drying experience to join Manufacturing Development

Is it your dream to be working with optimisation and support? Do you have experience with spray drying, protein recovery and purification? Then you might be our new chemist for one of our support teams in Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (DAPI) Process Support.

About the department
DAPI Process Support is a part of DAPI Manufacturing Development (DAPI MDev), and consists of approximately 70 employees divided in 5 teams. The department is located in Bagsværd, but we also have offices in Kalundborg. The aim of the DAPI Process Support team is to support DAPI’s production departments within the areas of process optimisation, troubleshooting and transfer of new processes from development to production. The support is provided to production facilities located in Kalundborg, an upcoming facility in US and also to Contract Manufacture Organisations (CMOs).

You will be a part of the New Products Support team working with development and implementation of new API processes. The team consist of 10 chemists and 5 lab-technicians. We enjoy professional challenges; we work independently with great individual responsibility and with a high level of commitment. We have many stakeholders in the organisation including production, CMO, R&D, Regulatory Affairs (RA), Quality Assurance (QA) and others.

The position
In this position, you will get a unique opportunity to work at the crossroad between development and GMP manufacturing. You will plan, evaluate and report experimental work in the laboratory, carried out by experienced laboratory technicians, both independently and in close collaboration with other colleagues. You will also be supporting the production departments with scientific data and engage in professional discussions with colleagues and essentially, challenge internal processes if needed. In close collaboration with other experienced colleagues an important part of this position is to further enhance the department’s competencies within spray drying.

Qualifications
As a minimum you hold an M.Sc. in chemical engineering, protein chemistry or a related discipline and have experience with spray drying including practical experience from industry. Additional experience within protein recovery, protein purification, scale-up, process qualification, GMP, handling CMOs and project management is considered an advantage.

As a person you work independently, are able to handle a complex workday and enjoy a close and cheerful collaboration with your team and department. You are responsible, flexible, and have the courage and urge to engage in new assignments and stay on them until the job is finished. It is important that you are a good communicator since you are in daily contact with other chemists, technicians, production employees, project managers and analytical laboratories. A positive mind set will suit our working environment where a good laugh is appreciated even when things are getting a little bit hectic.
