International profile with strong audiological research background
As a Clinical scientist, you will be part of our growing Clinical Affairs team focusing on the bone anchored hearing systems (BAHS).The team has three main responsibilities: To conduct post-market clinical surveillance as well as innovative premarket studies. To provide clinical training of employees and customers, to ensure the best outcomes when using our implants and sound processors. To participate heavily in product projects, making sure our innovative implant and surgical solutions meet the requirements of the everyday clinical world.
Your focus will be on clinical studies, both sponsored and investigator-initiated trials. You will be working together with the rest of the team located in Copenhagen, and Gothenburg, and with our sales representatives all around the world. There will be traveling both to our offices and to local markets, events & conferences and customer meetings.
You should expect and enjoy 30-50 days of travel per year.
Your expertise will be our guide
Your main responsibility will be hearing-related clinical studies of bone anchored implants. You will help our customers and clinical partners in their research activities, as well as assist sale representatives with deep knowledge of the field of bone anchored hearing implants and audiology.
You will be involved both in research sponsored by Oticon Medical, as well as help customers getting the most out of their own research projects. This means you are one of the main links between Oticon Medical and our external research partners and customers. Research activities, of course, aim to obtain knowledge and deliver safe and effective products but also secure Oticon Medical’s presence in local and international scientific meetings.
We are still a relatively small team, which means your tasks will vary between the strategical and the hands-on and anything in between.
It comes naturally to you to always consider the commercial aspects in any research project or activity, including how the results can be used to promote our products and the treatment.
Main tasks and challenges are divided into these fields of expertise:
- Contact to customers and researchers, join sales visit for additional scientific support
- Write protocols and follow their submission, with regards to ethical standards and regulatory requirements
- Analyze clinical data, and prepare technical summaries and scientific writings such as congress abstracts and publications
- Present scientific communications for customers, in local and international congresses, as well as in Oticon Medical customer events
- Write white papers and scientific publications
- Manage clinical partners’ network
Solid experience with clinical research
The main challenge in this job is to further strengthen Oticon Medical’s scientific credibility and company partner in scientific activities.
In order for you to be able to succeed in this position, we expect you to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Ph.D. degree in the area of bone conducted hearing, cochlear implant or hearing aid research, or audiology or hearing research in general
- 5 years of research experience, preferably in a commercial entity
- Track record of (co-)authored peer-reviewed articles
- Experience with designing, preparing and executing clinical trials of medical devices in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations
- Experience building relationships and cooperating with researchers and clinicians
- Excellent communicator, both on the podium, in scientific writing and when preparing layman texts for web and written materials
- We take it for granted that you speak and write English proficiently and it will be an advantage if you are fluent in either Danish or Swedish as well
