Vestas is continuously striving to be on the forefront of ground breaking technology within strategic areas that supports our overall strategy of being the Global Leader in Sustainable Energy Solutions. A central part of this lies within our five Technology Clusters in Ideation and Partnering who has three main areas of focus:

1. Technology scouting to identify status and development of new technologies and looking out for potential disrupters and enablers from which they maintain the Vestas Technology Radar and communicating this to the rest of the organization to inspire innovative development.
2. Incubating early stage projects through agile project development that could lead to new technology projects enabling LCoE (Levelized Cost of Energy) reduction in wind energy.
3. Develop new opportunities next to the core business that in the long run can be new sources of revenue.

Responsibilities

As a Cluster Technology Developer for Emerging Energy Technology, you will - together with the Cluster lead - be responsible for generating the overall picture of how new energy technologies in relation and adjacent to wind power could impact both our existing products and business models as well as set the path to new, with value creation for Vestas in focus.

You will be responsible for driving several projects from the technical perspective that each can be seen as little startup with a dedicated project team comprehending all activities from product development, market research, customer engagement etc.

Therefore, you are capable of bridging and communicating technical content as economic impact.

You value the agile approach and target small fast sprints focusing on removing key uncertainties with smallest amount of effort, keeping a focus on our goal and stop activities which does not lead to our common objective.

Equally, you are cautious on what in this field potentially could disrupt our current business - both when it comes to new business models and technical development.

In short:

• Responsible for driving key projects together with a team as it was a little startup company
• Comprehensive analysis of solution space and impact assessment and potential partners
• Assist the Cluster Lead in generating and maintaining the Vestas perspective on Emerging Energy Technologies
• Assisting maturing new technologies and ideas to a level where it can be implemented as a Technology project in the Vestas organization.
• Responsible for collaborating with external partners within technology area
• Responsible for communicating and liaising with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• We expect you to have a BA. or Master degree within IT and/or Technology and a minimum five years of relevant experience preferably within the sustainable energy mix.
• A large network within the sustainable energy community would be an advantage.

• You should be out going with a good IT-technical knowledge and the ability to convert technical knowledge into commercial impact.
• You have an innovative mindset and see opportunities and thrive in a flexible atmosphere where not all process and methodologies are carved in stone, but where we adapt to make things happen.

• You are eager to drive things forward and can combine existing solutions with the opportunities that new technologies bring.
