Copenhagen / Local-International / Commercial-Sales-Business Development / Ref.: MO-107865 As a Commercial Manager in Maersk Oil you will play a key role in the strategy, change and capability development of the function and be responsible for the commercial aspects of value capture, value retention and risk mitigation and value optimisation. We Offer The Commercial Manager reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and is responsible for leading, managing and mentoring a commercial team based in Copenhagen. The Commercial Manager leads commercial activities and strategy for operated and non-operated assets which do not have fully staffed in-country Business Units with embedded commercial resource. The role is currently responsible for commercial activities in Kenya, Kazakhstan, Angola, Brazil, Algeria and Kurdistan. The Commercial Manager and their team work closely with their counterpart in the Growth organization to ensure a seamless transfer of assets from Growth into operations. Key Responsibilities - Providing support to structure deals and contracts - Driving efficiency by defining best practice in negotiation and agreement delivery - Conducting contract audits and providing advisory support on best practice commercial optimization - Conducting integrated commercial assurance of investment decisions - Providing expertise to front-end load commercial considerations in key business activities: • Supporting the identification of above-ground risks, alongside colleagues from other non-technical functions • Building a professional commercial discipline (e.g. assurance, operating standards and career paths) • Supervising activity in Business Units without a dedicated Commercial resource, in cooperation with Managing Directors • Primary Commercial advice and assurance for predominantly production sharing and deepwater offshore assets, both operated and non-operated • Providing Operated By Others (OBO) support and assurance to any Business Units constructing or operating OBO agreements • Operating environment and associated regulatory compliance and Commercial stipulations • Leading, managing and mentoring a Commercial Team to ensure the company’s business goals and objective are met on a planned and timely basis. Who we are looking for • Successful international, broad based career in upstream oil & gas, backed by a recognised academic qualification in a relevant discipline • Held accountable for and successfully performed in a significant, complex commercial leadership role • Successfully managed external stakeholder relations, including Partners and Authorities • Experienced at working with complex joint ventures • Skilled in influencing stakeholders and gaining their support • Has ability to manage complex commercial and political issues and the integration and interdependency across the full value chain to deliver positive value • Experienced at leading and developing people in a multi-cultural environment • Has delivered corporate governance standards and performance management including reporting and compliance.
