Copenhagen Engineering/Technical Ref.: MO-040800 For more than 50 years Maersk Oil’s Danish Business Unit has built technological and organisational know-how in operation tight chalk fields under the tough and challenging conditions of the Danish North Sea. Examples of this are the management of wells, reservoirs and facilities to prolong lifetime of the fields and the development and use of horizontal wells to increase the recovery factor. The majority of the producing oil and gas fields in the Danish North Sea is operated by Maersk Oil in the partnership Danish Undergrounds Consortium (DUC) with Shell, Nordsøfonden and Chevron. Key Responsibilities As a Compliance Engineer your overall responsibility will be to secure Maersk Oils compliance to legislation and internal and external standards, rules and guidelines for our drilling activities. Some of your concrete tasks will be to: • Participate in the preparation of relevant legislation with internal and external stakeholders • Act as the bridging point between Danish Business Unit’s Drilling department and Maersk Oil’s corporate governance relations • Give input to and participate in drafting and implementing corporate compliance standards and guidelines. • Conduct internal reviews and audits Who we are looking for You hold an engineering degree on MSc level and ideally have experience from the oil/gas industry within drilling or HSE combined with some legal work or exposure, or you have a legal background with really good, relevant drilling or HSE engineering knowledge or experience. We expect you to have around 5-15 years of experience within a combination of the above disciplines. If you have audit experience within the above areas it will be an advantage but not a prerequisite. The same account for experience with and/or knowledge of API standards (American Petroleum Institute). You need to be fluent in both written and spoken Danish and English on a very high level in order to handle the legal language requirements of this position.
