Would you like to help us realise a visionary strategy on greener power and heat production? Join us and become our dedicated and business-oriented Concept Manager to spearhead the technical development of our large thermal power stations. You will based in the Technology Concepts department in the business area Technology Solutions, which is a part of our technical competence centre for optimisation, construction and renovation of our power stations and plants. Technology Concepts is responsible for the delivery of robust technical concepts and for the technical project development in the project start-up phases, among other things, in relation to technology screening, concept development, budgeting, scheduling and supplier lists. You will therefore have plenty of opportunity to influence the commercial basis for our thermal power plants. Technology Concepts is part of Thermal Power which has 900 employees and constitutes one of five business areas in DONG Energy. We own just below half of the thermal production capacity in Denmark and thanks to innovative bio-refining technologies, we are at the forefront of development within efficient use of biomass and reduction of the environmental impact. We are also working hard to improve the flexibility of our plants in order for them to interact to an even greater extent with the many new technologies that are supporting today's power grid. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. You should expect some travelling in relation to your work, both between these two locations and to our power stations and reference plants. Areas of responsibility As Concept Manager, you will – reporting to a steering committee – be responsible for selecting available technologies, maturing these and recommending the technical plant solution for a project. This includes, among other things, preparing CAPEX and OPEX reports for use in the valuation of the project. After approval, the project is handed over to the executing organisation. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •manage small project teams consisting of both internal employees and external consultants •handle the commercial and technical project stakeholders •ensure that there is a clear understanding and description of the commercial basis for the technical concept •ensure that all technical solutions are brought into play and examined before the technically and financially most robust concept is recommended for implementation •prepare accurate CAPEX/OPEX budgets and time schedules •shed light on safety aspects of both the design and operation of the different concepts so that occupational health and safety is taken into account when selecting concepts •ensure that environmental and CSR aspects comply with the Group's high standards. In addition, you will be responsible for keeping up to date on technology, suppliers and market developments within the field of thermal energy in particular and energy in general to be able to make an optimal contribution to the development of our thermal plants. Your profile You have a relevant educational background, for example as an engineer, a relevant master of science degree or similar and experience within one or more of the following areas: logistics and processing of fuels and residual products, combustion technology, boiler and turbine systems, power station-related environmental plants, knowledge of materials for thermal power plants. Furthermore, you will have project management experience and an understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of the projects.
