- Legal - Denmark - Bagsværd We are looking for a lawyer with trademark experience and contract experience to assist us in managing the Novo Nordisk Groups trademark portfolio globally. About the department Corporate Trademarks – part of the Business Development and Trademarks team in Corporate Legal - is globally responsible for the registration, protection and enforcement of Novo Nordisk’s trademark rights. Business Development and Corporate Trademarks consists of 5 lawyers and 2 trademark specialists and is part of Novo Nordisk’s Global Legal organisation which employs more than 120 lawyers at more than 25 locations throughout the world. Corporate Legal based in Novo Nordisk’s headquarters in Bagsværd Denmark. The job You will be one of two lawyers on the Corporate Trademark team. The position as Corporate Counsel is highly independent and requires extensive cooperation across functions as well as borders – with other Novo Nordisk departments, trademark attorneys and authorities, alliance partners etc. Although working very closely with the management in Legal Affairs, Global Marketing, Regulatory Affairs and Novo Nordisk affiliates, you will be handling most of your tasks independently. You will be involved as legal partner in driving and controlling the innovation process when developing trademarks for new products. Other key tasks include; ensuring that group trademarks are globally enforced and that infringement of trademarks and domain names are acted upon, as well as providing advice on copyright issues. In addition, you would provide legal advice and support to our key internal clients in Business Development, and Corporate Alliance Management, in particular as it relates to international licensing and R&D transactions and intellectual property. As part of the Global Legal, you would also be involved with cross-functional Global Legal projects. Qualifications You have an advanced degree in Law/Commercial Law or equivalent and know the legalities of trademarks and trademark protection based on experience working as a trademark counsel or a similar position in a private practice or a large organisation – preferably with an international scope. You have good contract drafting and negotiation skills, and business and client focused mind-set. This position requires that you are results oriented and have a proactive approach and the ability to solve complex legal issues with a practical approach. We are looking for a person characterised by a high level of integrity and professionalism. Proficiency in written and spoken English is a requirement. We expect you have a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience with trademark. You will also need to be a team player with a positive attitude as you will work closely with your colleagues to reach department goals. In addition, you possess strong cooperation and communication skills (verbal and written), negotiation-level English language ability, effective time management skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and ability to work in international settings.
