We are seeking a technically savvy data scientist with a strong nose for data and plenty of hands-on experience in organizing, blending, analysing and presenting data. You have worked with open-source data technologies, you are curious, innovative and take pleasure in picking up new modelling techniques and tools, to enable our businesses to identify opportunities of data driven value add.

As a Data Scientist at the Nets Analytical Factory, you will be exposed to complex intellectual challenges, coupled with real commercial applications across the whole spectre of our various business lines. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from early proof-of-concepts, over integrating data extraction processes into streamlined pipelines, to developing and deploying models in production environments for further operational refinement. You will work in an agile setup, within CI/CD frameworks, and you will be exposed to latest advances within multi-tenant cluster technology, including our new GPU setup.

The payment industry is undergoing a lot of change and we are looking for the right candidate, to be part of the data journey at Nets, under the newly established Chief Data Office at Nets Group.
Nets Group handles payment solutions, information services and digital security, with one of Europe’s most comprehensive and innovative product portfolios. 

The Analytical Factory team is a Nordic team with head of the department based in Copenhagen. The role is a full-time position and you can be located either in our Copenhagen, Stockholm or Helsinki office.

Key responsibilities and tasks

• Conduct data analysis and prepare presentations and decision supporting analysis for business
• Work with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for insights driven solutions
• Integrate domain business knowledge with advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning and artificial intelligence
• Use, combine and develop state-of-the art mining methods
• Select features, build and optimize predictors
• Perform segment and cohort behaviour analysis
• Develop testing frameworks for advanced analytics methods
• Collaborate with functional teams to implement models in test and production environments
• Drive best practice, standards and processes to support Nets data strategy and roadmap

We’d Love It If You Can Tick Off All Of The Below

• Master’s degree or PhD in data-intensive field like Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Social Sciences or similar
• Relevant courses on applied mathematics, statistical modelling, algorithms, AI, ML, econometrics
• Minimum 5 years of experience with data science in production environments
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Big Data frameworks like Hadoop, HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive, etc.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Java, Scala, Python, R
• Mastery of ML algorithm classes for supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning: linear regression, PCA, SVM, trees ensembles, clustering, neural networks
• Deep understanding and experience with ML algorithms to assess, combine and optimise towards best fit cases
• Experience with ML libraries: sklearn, nltk, GloVe, spacy, sparkml, keras, TensorFlow, Spark pipeline
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, visualization techniques and tools
• Experience with scalable systems and performance tuning
• Experience with distributed databases and key issues affecting performance and reliability
• Experience with data mgmt., ETL, data quality, metadata management, data loads, data profiling
• Mastery of continuous integration and automatic testing tools
