We are looking for Big Data Engineers, to take the responsibility of designing, building and maintaining of our Cloud Data Platform from end to end with architecture perspectives, security and compliance.

Your future responsibilities

You’ll join Group Technology, Big Data & Analytics, where we design, deploy and run the Hybrid Cloud Data Platform supporting Big Data and Cloud workloads running in a containerized environment.   

What you’ll be doing:  

• Engineering, automating, designing, building, coding, managing, testing and supporting Nordea’s Big Data infrastructure services.  
• Interact with Business IT Units, architects and infrastructure specialists, as well as Linux/Unix- and Database Specialists to optimize operational stability and platform performance.  
• Write and maintain Big Data and Cloud knowledge base: blogs, processes and guidelines.  
• Collaborate and coordinate globally with cross border teams and tenants: you help, guide and solve issues related with Cloud Data Platform and peripheral integrations, including data and frameworks.  

The role could be based in any of our offices globally so are you living in the Nordic countries or are you situated in Poland we welcome your application. You could come as an experienced Engineer, Subject Matter Expert or Architect. Alternatively, you are an experienced Developer with architecture flavours.   

Either or, your background includes:  

• Hands on experience in Cloudera Hadoop, MapR Converged Data Platform, hybrid cloud architecture, Java, Python, Bash scripting and Apache Kafka.  
• Hands on experience with containers (development, support, and orchestration) based upon Docker and Kubernetes.  
• Strong Linux/Unix skills and experience with all layers of the technology stack.   
• You are experienced of automation with Ansible and Infrastructure as Code. When it comes to your personal qualities, we believe that you never do the same twice without considering automation as such.  
• You have very good communication skills; you exchange ideas and relate to people from all parts and levels in the organisation.  
• Understanding of distributed and cloud computing and large enterprise infrastructures.  
• Additional points are earned from:  
• Hands on experience with data models, structure and database systems as well as IaaS and PaaS cloud providers (preferably AWS or Azure).
