Detailed Description Ensure high quality project deliverables Your overall objective is to secure timely delivery within budget and agreed specifications. The products span from automation and quality control systems to electrical solutions and systems used for the cement and minerals industries. As Department Manager you enable your team to get the most out of their talent and by that deliver best in class solutions in our industry. You ensure right project specifications, optimal staffing, proper guidance and coaching. In overview your main responsibility covers to · Ensure alignment and optimal use of manpower across the department’s portfolio of projects · Lead, inspire, motivate and develop your team of interdisciplinary and cross-cultural project managers · Handle multiple contacts e.g. to external customers and contractors and internal departments such as Engineering, Service and Sales You will be based at our headquarters in Copenhagen and can expect up to 60 yearly travel days in connection with customer meetings, site visits and internal meetings etc. You will report to the head of the EMENA region in Automation. About the department In Automation Projects we turn visions of what might be into deliverables. We are based at FLSmidth’s headquarters in Valby, Copenhagen, and we have the whole world as our workplace. For the last 4 years we have completed projects within all of our 6 key industries (coal, cement, copper, gold, fertilizer and iron ore). The department is staffed with 11 employees, with the majority specialised in project management. Job Requirements Solid system and process knowledge and project management experience You probably hold a relevant Engineering degree, but above all, you must have a good technical understanding of complex systems and processes at major industrial plants, preferably from the cement and/or minerals industry. To perform well in this position, you need solid experience with project management and budget control, combined with commercial flair and strong negotiating skills. You can obtain a comprehensive view and have a strong personal impact which enables you to lead your team so that projects progress successfully and are completed in due time. Moreover, you have a good portion of international experience that you rely on when adjusting to new customers and projects worldwide.
