Tooling in Blades Production Engineering, is responsible for the development of manufacturing solutions for blades production for wind turbines, as well as prototype technology projects. The Tooling team is a project oriented team delivering both to new product developments and supporting our blades factories around the world during installation of new blade production lines, and during running production. The department is split between Lem (DK) and Isle of Wight (UK). Tooling Equipment Engineer for blade manufacturing, Vestas Manufacturing A/S, Isle of Wight (UK) or Lem (DK) You will, together with the team, be responsible for specification, development and delivery of equipment for manufacturing of blades used globally in Vestas Blades. Other aspects of the role are the review of supplier design solutions, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing and finally hand over to production facilities. Responsibilities: This role requires good coordination between supplier and the factory management team as well as the technical support teams. In addition there will be process and equipment optimisation tasks and continuous production support. The job will require traveling between Lem (DK) and Isle of Wight (UK) as well as to all our factories and tooling manufacturer around the world. The types of machines and equipment the department is responsible for covers a vast range of industry disciplines: Steel and composite moulds for blades and sub-components Epoxy processing and dispensing machines Lifting and transport equipment Positioning and assembly stations and solutions for blade component assembly Advanced automatic manufacturing solutions (robot-cells, glass winding machines, etc.) Composite drilling, grinding and sanding machines Glass and carbon cutting and stitching machines Advances quality tools (Ultrasonic, optical, lasers, metrology, blade weighing systems, etc.) You may be exposed to any area the department is responsible for, and you will be allowed to focus on your core competence areas. Your work will primarily cover: Work closely together with other engineers and specialists, technical designers and technicians across the organization to capture the necessary requirements for the equipment, and to develop and deliver the right solutions Participate in technology development projects for creating the wind turbine blades of the future, and the solutions to manufacturing it Defining the design requirements for equipment solutions following a Design for Six Sigma philosophy Verifying and validating equipment designs Collaborating closely with external suppliers on equipment deliveries Implementation and installation of blades production equipment all over the world Supporting blades production from a technical point of view, finding and developing optimization possibilities as well as trouble shooting on site Qualifications: You hold a bachelor/masters (electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, manufacturing, process, etc.) or equivalent education or work experience. You are attracted by an international environment with a high level of activity, and are keen to learn new skills. You can either be a newly graduated engineer or a candidate with some years of experience within some of the below areas: Practical experience with machinery or equipment for blade manufacturing Understanding of and experience with mechanical and process equipment design and standards Creating and understanding technical specifications, and development and design of production equipment Experience within an engineering company and the design and development process Basic understanding of electrical circuits and mechanical part like EL motors, pumps, switches, flow metres, sensors, etc. Experience with two component resins or adhesives, or similar chemistry, as well and composite manufacturing Basic knowledge of CE marking and machinery directive requirements Find it easy to work with people in different global locations and from differe
