Do you want to be an important part of the development of challenging offshore projects? National Oilwell Varco Subsea Production Systems (NOV SPS) designs and manufactures flexible pipes and specific, innovative products for the offshore oil and gas industry. Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, we leverage superior engineering and state-of-the-art manufacturing technology to establish long-term partnerships with global contractors and oil companies. 

You will join our Pipe System Design department, where you will focus on sales engineering for the flexible pipe systems that are used primarily to transport oil, gas and water along the seabed and up to the connecting surface vessel. You will be based in our Brøndby office near Copenhagen. As part of the sales engineering team your role is to design the flexible pipes for commercial proposals that wins us new projects. You start by reviewing information about temperature, pressure, water depth, external loads and type of fluid inside the pipe and then you design and optimize the cross-sectional design of the pipe.  

Your main tasks:

  • Review client specifications
  • Design flexible pipe structures
  • Evaluate materials and fabrication
  • Optimize structure for improvements
  • Communicate with clients
  • Cooperate with other departments such as sales, engineering and development

 

Qualifications 

Your skills and experience

  • You recently graduated with a B.SC or M.SC degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • You are excited about solid mechanics, material science or thermodynamics
  • You are a positive person that likes being engaged in a dynamic environment
  • You speak and write English fluently

 You are a team player with a strong commitment to task and team, and when necessary you can adapt, change plans and find alternative solutions. You can also work independently and you understand how to communicate technical information to people of different backgrounds.
