Then join our department Mechanical Structures, consisting of 4 mechanical developers and 2 casting experts. We are responsible for developing statics components for all pumps developed in Grundfos from concept phase to hand-over to production. The department is based in Bjerringbro (Denmark) and supports development projects worldwide. As Development Engineer, you are responsible for developing and designing specific components that will be used in our products. Traditionally, the development phase has been test driven, but over the coming years, it will change to simulation driven design. Thus, you take on the role of generating ideas for components, modelling them via 3D CAD, and going through iterative processes of simulation as well as sparring with colleagues. From this process, you bring forward the most promising designs to develop and refine further. “As engineers, we tend to like working in detail. But in this job, it is important to also know when to move forward without losing sight of the complexities we are dealing with. Working on a single component while understanding and remembering the integral whole of the finished product can be tricky,” Mikkel says. Hvad skal der til for at ansøge? You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, perhaps a background as a welder, tool maker or operator, as well as a couple of years’ experience. Experience with 3D CAD tools is essential, and if you have skills in simulation driven design and/or the programme Catia & Ansys, it is a definite plus. It is important that you strong knowledge in static calculation as well as material selection Knowledge of composites or casting is considered an advantage. You speak and write English fluently. “What will be of great value in this position is your drive and focus on performance.
