About the department The job is located in Novo Nordisk Research & Development area in Bagsværd in the department Chemical Development. In the department you will find 51 highly skilled and motivated colleagues with a “can-do” attitude, who constantly challenge themselves to develop and upscale robust chemical processes. Our main responsibility is to develop chemical processes and produce intermediates and API for pre-clinical and clinical studies. We do so in close collaboration with the development teams within Novo Nordisk. The job As chemist in Chemical Development you will have the opportunity to combine several process chemistry disciplines such as chromatographic purification as well as classical organic and solid phase synthesis. Along with process development you will have the main responsibility for purification processes of side chains and peptides on a newly implemented highly flexible chromatographic purification system. You will be responsible for the implementation of the chemical processes in our pilot plant facility including production planning, preparation of master batch records and technology transfer. Using Lean and statistical tools you will participate in on-going evaluation and optimization of existing processes. You will be involved in the technical aspects of the pilot facility and be part of implementation of new equipment. Qualifications You have a master degree in engineering, pharmacy, chemistry or another relevant discipline. You have more than three years of practical industrial experience preferred within protein purification at laboratory, pilot or production scale. You have interest in the technical and equipment aspect of a pilot facility. Good knowledge of quality management, cGMP and pharmaceutical development is expected. You prefer experimental work and wish to expand this in a pilot plant setting, implementing laboratory and pilot scale chromatographic purification processes. Knowledge related to equipment used in production setting is seen as an advantage. On a personal level, you are a self-starter who thrives with driving tasks independently to the finish line. As you have a structured approach to your work, you can juggle several processes while prioritizing your efforts. We expect you to have excellent collaboration skills across organizational levels, to be reliable, to have an ability to make the right decisions in a hectic work environment and enjoy building relations.
