The team

You will become part of an autonomous agile team of seven colleagues - all with insights about various aspects of our products, technologies and engineering practices. We have end-to-end responsibility for reliability services, and we always search for new ways of creating value, while continually improving our existing solutions.

We have rapid decision processes, there is room for experimenting with new technologies, and we move fast from idea to execution.

The position

As DevOps Database Administrator in the Reliability Services team, you will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture as well as optimizing the data flow and collection for our cross-functional teams. At the same time, you support the entire business on data initiatives and ensure optimal data delivery architecture throughout ongoing projects.

More specifically, your tasks will include:

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Assemble large, complex datasets that meet functional as well as non-functional business requirements
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements (automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.)
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and CLOUD 'big data' technologies
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics
• Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centres and CLOUD regions
• Create data tools for analytics and data team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience with data engineering
• Graduated with a relevant Master's degree within a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, informatics or information systems
• Primary database administration experience with MSSQL, experience with Oracle and other relational databases is recommended
• Cloud administration with Azure but experience with other cloud services such as AWS, Google, Oracle and other cloud services is recommended
• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as C#, Python, Java, C++
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Your strong analytical skills enable you to juggle large amounts of unstructured datasets, and you have the drive to get the job done on time without compromising the quality in your deliverables. With your innovative and engaging mind-set, you are not afraid of challenging existing processes to ensure development.

As you will collaborate across multiple teams, it is important that you are a strong collaborator and feel comfortable supporting data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. With your excellent communication skills, you are able to communicate complex content across functions, motivating others to hear and follow your ideas.
