Our rare disease team is expanding, and we are currently looking for a colleague to join our highly committed Rare Disease Patient Engagement team. Are you ready to step in and step up? If 'Yes' then you might be the one, we’re looking for.

LEO Pharma has set the ambitious goal to become the world’s preferred dermatology care partner and to improve the quality of life for people that are afflicted by severe skin diseases, including rare diseases. To succeed, we invest massively in R&D, as well as have a very strong focus on partnering with all relevant experts, including disease experience exerts (also known as ‘patients’).

To that end, we are looking for a subject matter expert in digital communication to take on the role as Digital Engagement Specialist and support the build and acceleration of a new portfolio of innovative molecules that we believe hold a potential to transform the lives of people afflicted with serious rare skin diseases.

As our new Digital Engagement Specialist your mission will be to plan and deliver compelling communication that informs, connect and engage internal and external key stakeholders, in order to facilitate R&D and other activities that are imperative for LEO’s ability to develop and deliver new treatments for people living with rare skin diseases.

In summary, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of strategically aligned digital communication and e-signature initiatives that will enable members of the rare disease patient community all over the world to engage with LEO Pharma’s Rare Disease Unit; we are committed to the implied collaboration, and in fact believe that it is essential in order to develop solutions that are truly transformative, seen from the perspective of people living with serious rare skin diseases. Your primary responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Patient Officer (CPO) of Rare Diseases/Head Patient Engagement, you will design and implement tailored-for-purpose communication initiatives in order to support LEO Pharma’s 2025 vision and the related Rare Disease Patient Engagement Strategy.

In specifically, your primary responsibilities will be as follows:

• Create, deliver and maintain digital channels and content aiming at informing, connecting and purposefully engaging internal and external key stakeholders according to clearly defined objectives and KPIs.
• Apply the full range of existing on-line initiatives and channels, as well as invent and create new initiatives in support of LEO Pharma’s 2025 vision.
• Develop and manage all of the mentioned, as well as the related digital communication strategy on behalf of the Rare Disease Unit.
• Safeguard and further advance LEO Pharma’s reputation as a trusted and competent partner through your ‘patients first’ and ‘win-win’ mindset, and your communication approach that at all times reflect (and set) the highest standards from e.g. a legal and compliance perspective.

 
Your competencies

You have an academic degree in digital (marketing) communication or other related fields, and experience in applying this in a patient context. To that end, you have approximately 3 years’ experience in designing, implementing, measuring and reporting strategy-aligned digital initiatives and related content in the health care sector (private or public), e.g. as part of a consultancy agency or internal business unit.

You have a strong understanding of – and ideally experience with – medicines R&D and related experience in working and dealing with internal and external thought leaders and consider yourself an expert in making compelling stories and related visuals, such as infographics.

You have a strong drive, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to earn trust from your surroundings through your customer-centric and analytical approach to problem-solving. This also allows you to envision relevant win-win KPIs and end-points for your communication strategies and initiatives and to set and deliver on ambitious goals.

Last but not least, you have experience in working in a global organization/with multiple cultures and across multiple time zones and are hence you are also fluent in oral and written English (the spoken language in the Rare Disease Unit).

 
The department and your new team

The Digital Engagement Specialist, Rare Diseases, is part of the Patient Engagement team; a team of highly driven and skilled subject matter experts with complementary and interdependent capabilities, roles and responsibilities within the team, as well as in LEO Pharma. All team members have extensive experience in designing and delivering pioneering win-win initiatives in partnership with internal and external key stakeholders, including opinion leaders and members from the global, regional and national patient communities.

The Patient Engagement team is an integral part of the Rare Disease Unit (RDU) that reports to the EVP of R&D.  Based at the LEO Pharma Headquarters in Ballerup, Denmark, the Patient Engagement team supports R&D and commercial efforts to build and advance LEO Pharma’s pipeline in the rare disease area, with reference to LEO Pharma’s 2025 vision. To that end, the team works closely with all other members of the RDU (working from two geographical locations in the US as well as Denmark), as well as with business leaders, functions and teams beyond R&D and LEO Pharma.
