Are you the talented and pro-active sub-editor that will soon become the newest member of Waremakers' small start-up team?

Waremakers launched in late 2013. We have a staunch ambition to become the web’s hub for quality goods — promoting the independent producers around the world who make the finest quality products available to man.

Our platform currently offers accessories and stationery but will expand into several other categories in the future — aiming to become the web’s number one stop if you are looking for supreme quality products. An Amazon for the best human kind has to offer, you could say. Or a quality Etsy for professional producers.

We recently partnered up with one of Denmark’s biggest companies and are now expanding our very international team from 3 to 5 members to fulfil our ambitions.

 

YOU

First and foremost you are a native English speaker and speak and write English flawlessly. We are not able to consider applications from non-native English speakers.

Your key skills are writing and editing. You know pretty much all there is to know about texts — possibly from a background in journalism.

Waremakers is essentially a magazine / marketplace hybrid and we put great emphasis on content. We are not salesmen as such, but want to put truly worthwhile reads into the world. The products for sale at Waremakers are an add-on, you could say.

We need you to:

• Work with freelancers all over the world — manage them and edit their texts if needed
• Generate ideas for new content
• Produce truly engaging long copy
• Produce short copy — all the way down to product descriptions
• Help with some minor admin tasks

As we are all-digital, we would be very happy if you also know:

• How to navigate the backend of a CMS (Wordpress, Drupal or other)
• Basic HTML and CSS

And even happier if you also know:

• Photography so you can sometimes shoot images yourself
• Image editing in Photoshop (or other) so you can prepare images for your articles
• Google Analytics so you can track the impact of your work

And in general we really like versatile people who are happy doing a multitude of tasks — an important part of being a start-up.

On top of this, you probably love the digital world and continuously stay updated on what is happening in it. You know what Wired, TechCrunch and Mashable are.

You are organized and work efficiently with a conscientious and can-do attitude.

You are self-motivated and able to work independently.

You can expect to become a key part of Waremakers and will have the opportunity to grow within the role and beyond.

It is also important to us that you share our ethos: We truly care about humans making things to the highest standards and we wish to encourage people to buy better quality products. We are convinced that you can only truly excel in your work if you genuinely believe in what you are doing.

 

WE OFFER

We have just received funding and are setting out on a mission with all the buzz and energy that this entails. You will become part of our very small team and be part of the project right from the start.

We have just moved into new offices in the heart of Copenhagen, so everything is new for everybody.

We offer an attractive starting salary with room to grow.
