Job Description

Do you want to take leadership of driving distribution sales partners to profitable growth? Then you might be the new Distribution Sr. Sales Manager, we are looking for in Danfoss Power Solutions.
 
Strengthening and further development of our network of Distribution Sales and Service Partners is one of the strategic growth areas in Danfoss Power Solutions. Investments are made to increase sales through this sales channel, and growth programs and initiatives are being implemented to support the direction. 
 
You will become part of the Distribution Sales Leadership Team and you will report to the Director of Distribution Sales, EMEA. The position is expectedly located in either Neumunster, Germany or in Nordborg, Denmark. It requires travel activity of approx. 50%, primarily in Europe.

People leader and taking-part in managing Distribution Sales Partners
As our new Distribution Sr. Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small team of Distribution Sales Managers whose roles are to assist, encourage and drive Distribution Sales Partners to profitable sales growth - striking the right balance between pushing business rationale, goals and strategies, supporting opportunities and projects, and ensuring a good relationship with our Distribution Sales Partners. This role includes people leadership responsibility as well as direct management of select accounts in the distributor sales partner network, as you have the overall responsibility for our largest distributor group in Europe. Your key tasks will be to: 

• Coach, support and assist reports in effectively driving business growth and buy-in to distribution channel strategies at Distribution Sales Partners
• Ensure alignment in the matrix set-up of Best Customer Connect
• Ensure performance management for reports and distributors, including objective setting, KPI follow-up and supporting personal development
• Define short-, medium- and long-term strategies, sales targets and action plans
• Assist and ensure effective implementation and roll-out of initiatives and strategies
• Take direct account management responsibility for 2-3 select distribution accounts
• Lead negotiation of agreements e.g. price adjustments, contracts, warranty etc. 

Strategic leadership and action
You hold a university degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in a mechanical/electrical engineering discipline or Business Administration with good technical understanding, and you have several years of experience within sales in the hydraulics industry or within the machine manufacturing industry. Candidates with some years of leadership experience will be preferred for this position. It is also important that you have experience with distribution channels - alternatively experience in account management or sales development.
 
As a person, you are strategic thinking but also very action oriented. Your focus is always on the customers and their needs, and you have frontline passion. You are used to navigating within a matrix organization and have cross-cultural awareness. We expect you to be a strong communicator that can coach and develop both others and the business in a changing market. Last, but not least, you need to master English at a high level both verbal and written, and it is a plus if you are also proficient in German.
