E-learning Specialist for an Education Program in Fermentation Based Biomanufacturing

DTU Bioengineering is offering a position within e-learning and student recruitment.

Danish biotech and pharma industry has seen a significant growth in the past two decades and now contributes to more than 5 % of the total GDP in Denmark. Fermentation technology is the backbone of this production and there is a need for continuous development and upgrading of specialized expertise in this field. Therefore, DTU will establish a world-class Fermentation Based Biomanufacturing (FBM) initiative to strengthen the MSc, PhD and life-long-learning (LLL) educational programs offered by the university.

The research and educational program in this initiative will be supported by three DTU
hosted departments: Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (CFB), DTU
Bioengineering, and DTU Chemical Engineering, which in combination cover cell factory-based production from upstream to downstream development and from microscale to pilot scale.

Responsibilities and tasks 
We are seeking a senior educational officer to assist a Joint programme manager in developing the educational programs across the three DTU departments, and to be responsible for recruitment of students to the different activities.

The senior educational officer will:

• be overall responsible for supporting the scientists in the pedagogical use of e-learning tools
• be departmental specialist in Coursera and Desire2Learn (called DTU Learn at DTU)
• plan and run educational arrangements on e-learning (workshops, seminars)
• develop and execute promotion activities related to the MSc, PhD and LLL-courses to recruit students.

All work tasks will be carried out in close collaboration with the Joint programme Manager and staff at DTU. The position will be part of the organizational unit called Teaching Core at DTU Bioengineering.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a degree or extensive experience in pedagogics, and extensive knowledge on e-learning tools. Experience with organizational work and PR in relation to educations will be an advantage.

We are looking for a candidate with strong background in the pedagogical use of e-learning tools. Knowledge of Coursera and/or Desire2Learn will be an advantage, as will experience with educational PR.

We expect candidates to be dedicated to facilitate development of excellent educational programs. You must be very well organized, structured and capable of interacting with many different people. In addition, a good sense of humor will be appreciated. Reading and understanding Danish is not required but an advantage.

Salary and appointment terms
The salary and appointment terms are based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.

The period of employment is 4 years.

The main work place is DTU Bioengineering at Lyngby campus.
