To make Vestas wind turbines most reliable we are bringing the field conditions into our test centers. The Test & Verification operates the biggest test facilities in wind. It covers more than 50 test rigs on 30,000sqm. It includes some of the biggest and most advanced test rigs in the wind business (e.g generator rigs up to 16MW, 80m full scaled blade rigs and gearbox rigs up to 20MW). Test & Validation - Power Conversion You will be joining a department consisting of 25 skilled engineers and technicians. The team is responsible to plan and execute tests on gearboxes, converter and generators according our verification procedures and standards. You will develop new test methods, procedures and test equipment together with the design teams to ensure that the tests are always executed highly efficient on high quality level. As a member of the testing team you need to take care that our test benches and equipment is regular maintained, up to date and always ready for testing. Responsibilities: Your primary responsibilities will be to plan and execute tests on converter systems, but we also expect you to: Have advanced knowledge in the overall design of converters and their constraints for given projects in order to execute efficiently the right test and verification strategies, methodologies and plans in collaboration with specialists and design teams. Participate in the development of verification methods and procedures Summarize test and verification results to influence the design according requirements and reliability Work closely with project management and design to ensure execution of verification plans Participate active in technical reviews. Implement the testing and verification capabilities to support the product roadmap Qualifications: You hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or related specialisms; in particular, advanced experience in the design of converter system will be considered relevant to the position. Further, we expect you to have: At least 3 years of experience in operating, testing and testing methods on converter Competencies: Skills in operating and maintain converter systems You have worked with certification requirements for Type approval, IEC 61400, noise, SDL and general Power quality Knowledge in the design of converter systems (hard and software) Experience in operating of wind turbines is an advantage Experiences in creating high level reports, technical presentation and reviewing specifications and technical documents Shown the capability to to train/guide engineers and technicians is an advantage Capability to lead activities and projects Highly motivated, self-driven, open minded, effective communicator Strong technical background, customer focus, teamwork, global mindset What we offer: We offer a challenging job with excellent opportunities for vocational and personal development at the world’s leading wind turbine manufacturer.
