We are in an exciting and positive development where new products and solutions for our customers are being launched. Our products are in high demand, so we need a new colleague for our System and Control Engineering team, to ensure quality and timely order handling. System and Control Engineering is a team of electrical and/or marine engineers who handles upgrade projects for boilers on ships. We are involved in all orders which include burner, controls and interfacing to other equipment i.e. scrubbers.

Execution of orders: Retrofit and replacement
As an Automation Engineer in Boiler Service you overall responsibility is to execute order related tasks, focusing on modification and/or replacement of control systems, boiler burners and relating equipment.
In this position, you will have contact to (and support from) many people in the organization and close contact to classification societies and manufacturing sites. We work in close cooperation with Order Managers, who handle contact with customer, and with Mechanical Engineering taking care of design and purchasing the mechanical parts and work in close cooperation with the Service Sales Support team, who are experienced in upcoming and existing system solutions.

Furthermore, you will have opportunities to participate in product development projects in cooperation with other teams in the organization.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

Identifying requirements for electrical/control/burner components
Ensure timely and quality handling of controls/burner related design
Elaborate drawing material in EPLAN
Handshake with software development department
Prepare and submit Class material
Purchasing of parts in Axapta (ERP system)
Participate in testing of control panels
Be a part of relevant product development projects
Assist with standardizing upgrade packages
Technical support to both customers, sales and service engineers

For you to be successful as our new Electrical Engineer you must be able to establish effective work relationships both internal and external to ensure that all parties are working together to execute our orders in the best possible way.

Who you are and what you know

We are looking for a person with experience from a similar position. Most importantly an energic person with interest and knowledge about electrical design, automation and general process understanding. Your educational background can be Marine engineer, Automation engineer, Electrical engineer or similar and preferably you have minimum 2 years’ experience from a similar position. Knowledge about boiler and burner systems on marine vessels is an advantage and it is a requirement to have experience with EPLAN or similar electrical design software. Knowledge about Siemens is also an advantage.
Being an Automation Engineer in Service will also require involvement in understanding and handling tasks related to the equipment connected to the control system (boilers, burners, oil system and steam system) however the primary task is to handle orders/projects involving electrical engineering. The work pace can be high, and you must be able to work in a dynamic environment where priorities can change.

You approach your task in a structured way ensuring deadlines in collaboration with all your colleagues. Strong analytical mind with a persistent and positive attitude is some of the things that would characterize you. We expect you to have good English skills both written and verbally.
