Do you have an engineering background in electrical power and do you want to participate in and drive the design specification of the electrical power components to our converters within Vestas? We are looking for a highly skilled and professional Electrical Power Lead Engineer, who thrive working with a broad network of stakeholders and who, together with the electrical specialists, will set the standard for tomorrows design. You will be a part of the Converter Electrical team within the Converter Electrical & High Voltage department. The department consists of 15 highly skilled designers and specialists located in Aarhus. Technology & Service Solutions, Nacelle Power & Handling, Electrical Power & Control, Converter Electrical & High Voltage Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is where new product ideas or technologies are matured, developed, tested and improved. To put it short, Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. We are shaping the future of modern energy. The Converter Electrical & High Voltage department is part of Vestas R&D organization Technology & Service Solutions. The department is an essential contributor in making the current and future wind turbines more efficient and cost effective by developing the electrical power conversion components as power stack (power electronics), transformer and switchgear. This is done by being responsible for development and maintenance of the components according to the full value chain requirements. All Vestas products are based on internally developed converters since electrical power conversion is at the core of how a wind turbine performs, operates and interacts with the electrical grid. Responsibilities As Engineer in Converters, you will be a part of the Converter Electrical team and report to the Converter Electrical & High Voltage Manager within Electrical Power & Control. Your main responsibilities and tasks will be: Specification of requirements and functionality for power components to converter systems including busbars and circuit breakers but exclude power stacks. Drive and lead overall electrical design concepts together with relevant engineers and suppliers. Create Design Verification Plans/Procedures and conduct tests for design validation. Load flow and short circuit calculation (EDSA). Participate type test of electrical Converter cabinets. Influence and drive solutions based on International standards and requirements. Establishment of predicted failure rates for proposed designs. Set targets for how to qualify power components. Establish Critical To Quality’s for principal components. Review engineering designs. Create and keep the overview of quality of relevant electrical products in field. Participate in supplier quality evaluation. Qualifications Your qualifications include: A bachelor/master in a relevant area, i.e. electrical engineering (+10 years’ experience) Experience from power cabinet design including bus bar and circuit breaker specification. Experience in working with test and verification of electrical cabinets.
