Job Description

You might be the Embedded Software & Hardware Engineer we are looking for in our R&D department. Join us and become a key member of an international team developing new control systems ranging from enterprise to the embedded systems level. Your overall mission will be to develop electronics for embedded systems.
 
In this role, you will be part of an experienced team and be working with a wide range of the most current technologies in a dedicated business unit, developing electronic products and solutions for use in Food Retail, Air Conditioning, Industrial and Commercial Refrigeration. You will contribute to digitalization in all phases of development including requirement capturing, specification development, design, software development and validation/verification. Responsibilities will likely also include development and integrating electronic components into complete control systems.

Hardware & Embedded SW development with focus on quality and customers
The primary responsibility will be to design both analogue, digital circuits and the embedded SW for them. To this end, you will cooperate closely with your colleagues in designated teams, ensuring that applications and/or machines meet standards and customer requirements. You can look forward to working in a multi-cultural environment where you will have contacts across the globe.

More specifically, you will:

• Specify the tasks based on the customer’s requirements.
• Participate in cross functional engineering tasks.
• Design HW circuits covering analogue and digital functions.
• Develop the embedded SW using C/C++.
• Solve technical and quality issues.
• Be responsible for coordinating with the Supply Chain.
• Perform debugging and verification of the circuits and the related Embedded SW.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (UL, CE, LVD etc.).
• Ensure a high level of quality in the products. 

Hardware engineer, computer scientist or similar
As a minimum you hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or similar. A Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering will be considered a plus. Furthermore, you have or are:

• An engineer education in electronics.
• 2-3 years of experience with embedded electronics.
• Customer service oriented mind-set.
• Capable of managing your work by yourself or as a team member.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC design principles.
• Good knowledge and experience with analogue and digital electronics design.
• C/C++ programming experience. 

Additional experience that is a plus

• Installation and debugging of communication protocols for USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Lon, Can Bus (CanOpen), Modbus, Bacnet and other industrial standards.
• Experience with LabView and/or other IEC-61131 programming languages
• Use of web technologies for embedded devices.
• Linux device driver development.
• Describing data using XML.

Moreover, you must have solid analytical abilities, good communication skills and a positive and open mind. You must have a strong team spirit and be able to build relations and cooperate across borders and cultures. For this reason, you also need to be fluent in both spoken and written English.
