Here, you get to work in the heart of the LEGO Group. You collaborate with a team of experts and test LEGO® Elements to safeguard the play experience and spark creativity. Thus, you use your technical expertise as the children’s ambassador. Safeguard the quality of LEGO® Elements In this position, you join 17 colleagues in the Model Competence Center, who support designers in developing LEGO Elements and models that can inspire children to play. We protect the LEGO Building system by safeguarding the quality and the play experience of the models and elements going out to consumers. To do so, you conduct mechanical tests to ensure the quality of elements, e.g. by checking their function. As such, you imitate the wear and tear of time and children’s hands, but over a short time span, which may involve both simple and more complicated projects. More specifically, you: Conduct mechanical tests on new material to secure that LEGO Elements comply with demands and specifications Help define the way we test, to imitate how children play with LEGO Bricks, and help define quality Collect data in a systematic way, write up reports on completed tests, and explain these if needed At the LEGO Group we are committed to a sustainability agenda, and we are in the midst of testing new, sustainable materials. You will have a key role in uncovering their compliance with our quality standards. Caring for children In our tests, we need to think beyond legislation, figures and targets, to secure children a world-class play experience, regardless of material choice. This means that your gut feeling has a lot of say. We know that this is the case, and we will support you in developing your talent and in time making a deep impact in a position, where you get close to product development and speak up, if you spot a quality issue. Technical flair, knowledge of testing and communication skills In this role, you become successful because of your ability to translate your test results into meaningful, concrete and actionable information for colleagues with a non-technical background. We imagine that you: Have an education as Engineer, Laboratory Technician, Tool Maker or similar, and it is a major advantage if you have some years´ experience with mechanical testing on plastic and injection moulding Preferably have experience with physical laboratory-based tests and the ability to carry test out on your own Are very systematic and meticulous with decent communication skills, and you thrive in out-turned position in collaboration with many different people Speak and write English and it is a plus, if your know SAP and Sharepoint Join the global LEGO Family In the LEGO Group, we succeed together, and you will be part of a global family where you can use your creativity and enjoy a fun working environment across the LEGO Community.
