About the department Epidemiology is part of Global Development and we are based in Søborg, Denmark. You will be joining a team of 10 dedicated epidemiologists of various backgrounds and experience. We are responsible for supporting key development projects and launched products by providing epidemiological expertise based on literature and data. The job As epidemiologic data programmer in Novo Nordisk you will apply your programming, data management and epidemiologic knowledge and skills to become an important member of a team with epidemiologists working with real world data. You will primarily work within the major disease areas diabetes, obesity and inflammation, and your contribution can make a difference for many people. You will be responsible for writing computer programs using SAS to assist in the statistical analyses of pharmacoepidemiologic data. Your duties will be varied and diverse and will include extracting, updating, storing and managing non-standardised external raw data from commercial data sources as well as large observational Novo Nordisk studies. Part of the job is to continuously update your knowledge of formats and coding of data. You are expected to maintain, update and customise existing SAS programs. You must review and document existing programs to improve accessibility and transparency. Moreover, it is your duty to align programming across different epidemiologic studies to minimise risk of programming errors and improve reproducibility. The non-standardised nature of real world data requires frequent decisions and assumptions on epidemiologic subject matters, stressing the need for you, as programmer, to be an integrated member of the analysts team. Qualifications You have a master’s degree in biostatistics, mathematics, engineering, life science, public health or equivalent. In combination you have a solid and broad experience and expertise from managing and programming comprehensive real world data to prepare them for epidemiologic analyses. You have advanced SAS programming skills and are able to write efficient, well documented and standardised computer programs.
