About the European Finance graduate programme

As a European Finance graduate, you will be a core member of our team from day one. This means that you have time to develop your skills, deep dive into the European business areas, work with senior managers, expand your international network and commit to longer projects. Furthermore, by working closely with the affiliates that operate within Region Europe, you quickly get a comprehensive understanding of what drives the business in Europe.

 

We have designed the European Finance graduate programme so that, following its successful completion, you will be equipped with the necessary skills and experience to become an integral part of our company – typically in a European affiliate or elsewhere in our global organisation. The programme offers you the platform to establish yourself as one of tomorrow’s key people in Novo Nordisk finance.

 

The position

During the 2-year programme you will undertake four rotations of 6-months duration. Two rotations will take place in our European regional headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, one in a large sales affiliate in Europe and one in our corporate headquarter in Denmark.  

 

The rotations are shaped to suit your development needs while meeting our business requirements and to ensure you build the required competences needed to become one of “tomorrow’s key people” in Novo Nordisk. Below is an example of how the rotations could be shaped:

 

• Rotation 1 & 2
  Placed in European Finance & Operations team in Copenhagen for two rotations, you will gain insight into financial controlling, financial risk analysis, commercial and sales force excellence, market analysis, financial planning, management reporting as well as be responsible for a wide variety of ad-hoc projects. You will acquire comprehensive knowledge of the European market and the strategic implications for the business. One rotation will be focussed on Finance and the other on Market and Competitor analysis.

 

• Rotation 3
  During this rotation in a European sales affiliate, you will get truly close to the marketplace, deepen your understanding of local market dynamics and get the chance to apply the knowledge gained in the previous rotations. This is a unique opportunity to drive local projects or to become a fully-fledged member of a finance/commercial team in an affiliate.
   
• Rotation 4
  Working in our corporate headquarters in Denmark, you will be able to take up a position within Finance or Commercial Strategy, depending on your interests and future career aspirations. A corporate finance function could be in Risk, Financial Planning, or Internal Consulting, whereas a function in Commercial Strategy could be within Commercial Planning, Pricing, or Corporate Strategy.

Qualifications

To apply for the European Finance graduate programme, you must have:

• A master’s degree from 2018 or 2019 in a relevant subject, for example within finance, economics, business administration or management accounting
  Please note: if you are graduating outside this timeframe then check out these opportunities: student jobs, internships and permanent entry level jobs
• A minimum of 6 months’ international experience from working, studying or voluntary work
• Relevant work experience or extracurricular activities obtained next to your studies
• No more than 1 years of work experience after finishing your master’s
• Strong academic achievements
• Analytical skills and a challenger mindset
• High drive and ambitious goals
• Eagerness to learn and willingness to challenge status quo
• An international mind-set and be globally mobile
• Team-player skills
• Professional fluency in English
