About the department Cities Changing Diabetes is department which is part of the Changing Diabetes® area. After a successful launch in five cities around the world, we have strengthened the organisation around the Cities Changing Diabetes programme to drive the implementation of the scientific, communications and advocacy agendas. In 2016, the key priorities are to drive the programme forward in the five study cities (Mexico City, Copenhagen, Houston, Tianjin and Shanghai), to launch in Johannesburg and Vancouver and to prepare for the next phase of the programme. The position You will support project managers in the Cities Changing Diabetes team in day-to-day business processes and tasks. In this role you will work to develop evidence to address strategic questions, help to develop/ensure timely updates to city tools, work with team members on ad-hoc analyses, and assist with planning/development of activities to support Cities Changing Diabetes. Internship Period: The internship position is a full-time position for 6 months. Start date: 01 September 2016. Qualifications We are looking for an intern who is passionate about public health, evidence development, analysis and communication. You are currently studying on your master’s degree in pharmacy, public health, health services research, health economics/economics or other relevant field. General knowledge of health services research-related disciplines and key methodologies (database analysis, systematic literature reviews, cost-analyses etc.) is preferred. You are a person with a strong personal drive and dedication. You have professional and personal impact that is reflected in your desire to take initiative. We expect candidates to be service minded, thrive in a busy environment and bring a can-do attitude. Fluency in both oral and written English; ability to manage a large volume of projects (with supervision); sound personal judgment; and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
