About the department

 

In building 25A in Novo Nordisk’s site in Hillerød, we are charged with the responsibility of taking a wide range of our products through the lasts steps on their journey from raw material to finished product – we change quality parts into innovative usability when we assemble our pen dosage systems, and we ensure safety when we label and pack our many types of medicine. We rely on heavily automated production lines, some which are reliably dated, and some which are brand new, state-of-art machinery. This all need to communicate flawlessly, adhere to the strictest standards and always be ready to meet the demands from a score of stakeholders. In other words, for a curious engineer with a strong drive to make things work better, reduce down time and ensure safety, this is the perfect development environment – even if stakes are high.

 

The position

 

You will be taking on a critical role for the department as our automation engineer. This means that you will be relied upon to make decisions with impact, that your colleagues will turn to you for advice and expertise and that you are expected to train less experienced colleagues in their personal journey towards mastering our complex and varied setup. It also means that you will have access to a league of experts and equally dedicated peers across a truly global organization – one day you will be getting support from your colleague in China, the next day from your colleague in France, USA or Kalundborg. Even if you will be charged with a rather great responsibility, you will never be left to yourself with complex issues – you can always count on your team being eager to collaborate in solving and overcoming any challenge we may face.

 

When you join us, a thorough on-boarding process will ensure that you build meticulous knowledge of our setup, people and processes, before you are charged with responsibility. You will quickly be a natural part of problem solving groups on the various lines and play a vital part in our larger projects, all the while supporting technicians, operators and managers in everyday analysis and decision making.

 

 

Qualifications

 

You have earned the abstractJV_title of automation engineer - or similar - by true curiosity, hard work and your ability to transform abstract goals to doable actions. Even if you are a hardware person at heart, we expect you to be on the heavy side of familiarity with the IT side of it all, being able to effortlessly navigate around a curvy landscape of integrated network solutions and local add-ons where a framework of safety regulation and quality standards must always support the entire structure and have the last word.

 

You know your way around just about any PLC controlled system in material handling, product assembly and packaging lines, and you are eager to learn what you do not yet know. Robotics, big data gathering and analyzing and new digitalization technologies will also play increasing role in our setup.

 

Next to your ability to structure your work, you ascribe your success to your thorough and dedicated approach to any problem – large or small – and your keen sense for details. You probably have at least 3-5 years of experience as an automation supporter in a production setup not entirely unlike ours – working with highly automated manufacturing lines, preferably in a regulated industry. Here, you have built the confidence to make hard decisions based on data and facts and communicate them well.
