Fabrication Manager for manufacture of offshore wind turbine foundations

Would you like to help us ensure quality, efficiency and continued development within the wind power foundation area in Denmark and abroad? Join us and become Fabrication Manager in the Engineering & Fabrication Management team which is responsible for the manufacture of foundation structures for our offshore wind farms. Engineering & Fabrication Management is part of Wind Power which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia. However, you should expect around two travelling days per week as you will be travelling between offices and sites as well as visiting suppliers. Your key duties will be to •ensure that the product meets the contract requirements for quality, deadlines and the cost targets •handle our supply contact and be responsible for our internal and external partners •manage a small team of supervisors, technical quality engineers and external third party consultants •manage the hand-over from supplier to installation •be responsible for the technical fabrication aspects during supply contract negotiation and understanding the contractual requirements. In addition, you will be handling the interface towards design and installation, leading the fabrication project team and reporting on supplier progress and status as well as planning and carrying out quality assurance and control. Moreover, you will conduct fabrication meetings with the supplier, ensure a safe working environment, handle third-party reviews of the delivery, eg welds and paintwork, and gather lessons learnt. Your qualifications and core competences include that you •hold a master or bachelor degree in engineering, preferably within the areas of offshore, marine, manufacture, construction or machine engineering •have experience in construction management •have experience with supervising steel manufacture will be seen as an advantage •speak and write English and Danish fluently, will be seen as an advantage •have a responsible, structured and analytical approach to your work tasks, enabling you to create great results •are flexible and adaptable, enabling you to handle your tasks even in a sometimes hectic environment •have broad experience combined with the courage to influence our future development. You will be managing a team of people, and it is therefore important that you are outgoing and excel in team work and working with various international partners and suppliers.
