Fermentation Scientist, Fermentation Technology, Bagsværd
We are looking for a fermentation scientist to be a part of Fermentation Technology. Together with colleagues, you will be responsible for selection of new production strains and for development and optimization of fermentation processes in different lab-scale equipment. Data handing and analysis as well as upscaling the selected strain and process are also important parts of the job. Further you will be responsible for part of the fermentation systems and make sure that the systems can run the processes required. You will work together with scientists and technicians within the department, as well as from other parts of R&D, development and production.

You will work with development and optimization of fermentation processes in an exciting, hectic and dynamic environment. You will be challenged on application of your scientific knowledge, your collaborative skills, and the urge for results. You will enjoy development possibilities e.g. within project management and in depth understanding of the expression systems used in Novozymes. We are heavily investing in data capture and data mining capabilities, and you will become an important player on that journey.

In this position you need to:

• Hold a master’s degree in chemical engineering or biotechnology. You preferably have combined it with a Ph.D
• Have theoretical and hands on knowledge of fermentation processes
• Have knowledge and interest in microbial physiology and molecular biology and can create ideas across strain and process development
• Have hands on experience with programming of process control systems and data handling systems. The right candidate has insight in Python programming and data mining tools
• Be able to obtain overview of multiple tasks and have a strong drive for results
• Have strong skills within collaboration and communication
