Finance Assistant for our Copenhagen Office

 Founded in 1946, Arup is an independent firm of engineers, consultants, designers, planners and technicians offering a broad range of professional services around the world. Due to the fast growth of the business in Denmark, we are looking for an exceptional Finance Assistant to support the day to day operations of the Finance functions and duties. This is an exciting position, providing generalist Finance and administrative support to our team. The position will be part-time, 15 hours a week with the potential to grow to a full-time role while the office keeps growing. Our office is conveniently located in the center of Copenhagen. 

Requirements 

We are looking for a talented and motivated professional, who is a team player and enjoys working in a vibrant international environment. You are keen on taking on responsibility, and you meet the following requirements: 

- University degree preferably from Finance, Business, or Accountancy.

- Knowledge of all MS office applications.

- A proven track record of performing successfully in an administrative role

- Previous experience in a financial role

- Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment

- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential.

- Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.

- Excellent communications skills in English (both written and verbal).

- Fluency in Danish is a plus.

- Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges

- Understanding the confidentially needed to work in Finance and dealing with personal data

 Your responsibilities

 You will support the Finance department with all tasks, such as checking timesheet reports, producing monthly finance reports, processing invoices and expense claims, writing finance policies and processes, coordination with project managers. You will also assist in general administration tasks for the office and the team. Your assistance will be required but not limited to the following tasks:

- Preparation and review of the Centre Financial reporting for monthly review meeting with project managers.

- Review and process payment for supplier invoices, cash expenses and credit card expenses.

- Review timesheet reports and monitor actual spend compared to forecast on job numbers.

- Monitor spend on training in line with training plan, report back to HR team.

- Updating Project Managers on expected invoicing amounts, and updating the forecast where needed.

- A large variety of ad-hoc tasks supporting the financial and commercial team.

You will be joining a growing office of 55 staff, a mix of both Danish and other nationalities. The Finance team in Denmark currently consists of a Financial Administrator. You would become part of the Europe Region Finance Network, with over 20 staff across all Europe.
