We are looking for a talented FE Simulation Specialist, who wants to join our ambitious team. You will be working in an environment with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, where you can make a difference for people with a hearing loss. We navigate on high level standards and focus on both theoretical and practical tasks. 

This is in it for you
We are a team of 6 specialists focusing on in-depth knowledge on transducers, materials and simulation methods. We cover the expert knowledge within different disciplines such as static strength, vibration, acoustics, drop test and low frequency electromagnetics, therefore a solid understanding of physics will be vital. Our tasks include method development, tool development, planning and execution of concept and feasibility studies plus knowledge sharing both internally and with universities. One of our main responsibilities includes growing and developing the team’s knowhow within our defined fields of specialty.

Joining our team, you will be able to define own tasks and areas of investigation, in cooperation with the other specialists. We offer a good split between technical in-depth work and forefront knowledge of building-up and sharing in our group. There will furthermore be modelling and analyzing challenges with current designs, development of new design tools and models and a collaboration with students (Master or Ph.D. projects). Plus, you will have the ability to focus on in-depth analysis of physical hearing aid designs and finding root causes.

Become part of our Hardware Acoustics and Mechanics group
Oticon’s R&D department embraces the whole circle of development in-house, also including the development of our own chipsets. In this job, you will be part of Oticon’s group for Hardware Acoustics and Mechanics in Smørum, close to Copenhagen. We are part of the Hardware function and focus on the development of new multiple brand platforms. Overall, we are about 50 highly skilled colleagues with mechanical and electro-acoustic backgrounds. Our goal is to deliver discreet industry leading hearing healthcare platforms through increased specialization and strategic reuse. We challenge conventional solutions to enhance both end-user and customer satisfaction. We work all the way from the early concept phases to final introduction to production. We focus on optimizing the parts for production in a close dialogue with the tool designers and process engineers. We make sure that all parts and the documentation is in the right condition to transfer the platform from R&D to production. Your stakeholders will be project managers, employees dealing with the electro acoustical design, electronics design, audiology, production, Industrial designers and marketing.

Talented FE Simulation Specialist
We expect you to hold a B.Sc. + relevant experience, M.Sc. or PhD in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge in Acoustics and experience in cross-functional cooperation is an advantage. Your main deliveries in this position will include: 

• Method and tool development
• Best Practice guidance for designers to use when analyzing HW designs
• Analysis of hardware designs using simulation models and experiments
• Support to designers in projects
• Training of designers within the defined field of specialty
