Position Description: We are looking for an experienced new colleague for our Food Protection Application Group in Brabrand (Århus), Denmark.  The group works with the global food industry in relation to implementation of our natural antimicrobials and our range of HOLDBAC® protective cultures. In addition, we service a number of internal customers with routine as well as advanced microbiological analyses. The position is a new position created due to an increased demand for our food protection solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

• Implementation of existing and new antimicrobial solutions in a wide range of food and non-food matrices
• Development, validation and implementation of microbiological methods
• Contact to internal and external customers
• Identification of bacteria, yeasts and moulds based on traditional as well as newer fingerprinting methods
• Managing project related to shelf life and food safety
• Preparation of technical literature and presentations
• Participation in internal and external seminars
• Troubleshooting customers’ problems in relation to microbiology
• The tasks are done in close collaboration with our R&D departments, analytical departments, production plants, sales force and industry application groups in particular our dairy, bakery and meat/culinary application groups.

 

Job Qualifications

 

• Background as a microbiologist, food engineer, molecular biologist or similar
• Several years of experience from a microbiology laboratory, preferably from a food microbiology laboratory
• Experience in food microbiology, industrial hygiene and food preservation techniques
• Several years of experience from the food industry, e.g. the dairy or meat industry.
• As a person you are a team player, a fast learner with good communication skills, you are systematic and curious and have a good sense of humor.
• You master English at a high level, both orally and written
