As part of the analytical team at DuPont's Global Food Research Center in Denmark you will work together with other researchers in global projects generating new knowledge on food systems and food ingredients. The analytical department is a leading partner for Food Research in DuPont, and it is part of the global Technical & Innovation organization.
A major research theme in the organization is the influence of bacterial cultures and fibers on the human microbiota. This is studied using metabolomics and proteomics in combination with clinical outcomes. We apply both GC/MS, LC/MS and NMR spectroscopy to support animal and human clinical studies. Besides metabolomics, the 4 colleagues in the GC/MS team support many other development projects as well as minor ad hoc studies. Tasks are typically solved in close collaboration with highly motivated and dedicated colleagues with diverse professional competencies. Among the team's task are support for strategic product areas like microbial cultures, probiotics and food protection. The scientist's position is critical to secure continued high-quality data production and documentation.
The GCMS team is well equipped with state-of-the-art GC/MS's and sample preparation robots. The successful candidate will be a central go-to person in the team with primary responsibility within the fermentations and metabolomics domain. Also, the successful candidate is open to ad hoc analytical challenges.

Job Qualifications
Preferable competencies:
- Preferably, you hold a PhD degree combined with >2 years of experience in bio- or analytical chemistry with focus on GC/MS and metabolomics.
- You have experience with statistical tools for planning and design of experiments and evaluation of multivariate scientific data using toolboxes in Matlab, R or similar.
- You have strong hands-on laboratory experience
- Knowledge of relevant data acquisition software (Mass Hunter, ChemStation, OpenLAB, ChromaTOF etc.) is an advantage
- You must be fluent in English at a professional level
- You master standard computer software.
