Are you a geomechanics engineer with consulting or operational experience, and are you interested in being part of a challenging offshore HPHT field development? Join us and become Geomechanics Specialist for our Subsurface Engineering function in Denmark, which primarily provides reservoir and geomechanics engineering services to the Danish, Norwegian, UK and Exploration business units. The function’s responsibilities include evaluation of new business opportunities, near-field opportunities, appraisal planning, field development planning, unitisations and production operations. The department is a part of Exploration & Production, which has 700 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We explore for and produce oil and natural gas. Today, our activities are centred in the seas off Denmark, Norway and the United Kingdom, and we have an ambitious growth strategy with many exciting projects in the pipeline. You will be based at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility Your primary work tasks will include integration of large data volumes for building and developing 1D to 3D geomechanical models for oil and gas fields. You will analyse seismic data for 3D modelling and work with geomechanical models for wellbore stability, sand production prediction, production optimisation and compaction. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •perform rock property modelling, stress analysis, fracture analysis, and pore pressure prediction •be responsible for preparation of project deliverables including presentations and technical reports •handle project delivery and asset team communication to ensure that results are applied properly •conduct numerical rock mechanical modelling. •perform hydraulic fracturing analyses to support reservoir management, field development and well design decisions. Your profile You have a relevant engineering degree (mining, civil, mechanical etc), combined with in-depth understanding of rock mechanics concepts, models and applications. You have some practical experience and proven achievements within the relevant fields of application. Experience with finite element, finite difference or discrete element modelling is required. As we operate in a highly international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently. You show initiative in defining and executing tasks and you are a good communicator and team player.
