OVERVIEW:

Following further contract awards we are actively seeking to recruit a professional and career minded Geotechnical Engineer to join our highly skilled Tunnels and Underground Infrastructure team, based from our head office in Lyngby Denmark.

The role will see you working on a variety of project from around the globe and will offer you significant opportunities for skills and career development across a range of ground engineering and geotechnical aspects of projects, together with the opportunity to work from other COWI Group offices in Europe and worldwide.

BE PART OF AN INTERNATIONAL WORK ENVIRONMENT

You will be accountable for producing geotechnical designs on a wide variety of tunnelling and underground structures projects, offering technical advice to project teams, liaising with clients and mentoring / developing less experienced engineers and ensuring we achieve the project requirements. 

YOUR PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS CREATE VALUE

You hold a master's degree in civil engineering and have experience within geotechnical design of underground structures (diaphragm walls, secant piles, soil-structural interaction, deep excavations, ground improvement, retaining structures).

You have experience related to:

• Detailed design and analysis
• Geomechanical principles and their application, including some or all of:
  • Soil mechanics and foundation design
  • Rock mechanics and rock mass behavior
  • Slope stability and slope remediation
  • Groundwater behavior

• Project management
• Ensuring that design, assessments and checking of designs are in accordance with the current Standards, Codes of Practice and Best Practice
• Preparation of risk assessments
• Coordination of work undertaken by external sub-contractors and design checkers

Furthermore, you can recognise yourself in the following statements:

• You possess excellent reporting and communication skills in both personal and written form
• You have FEM design experience (Plaxis 2D or 3D)
• CAD/BIM experience from Autocad/Revit/Civil 3D is an advantage
• You are willing to travel to meet clients or visit our other offices worldwide
• The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in Danish would be a distinct advantage
